What Is A Nonsurgical Facelift?

Here at Elle Skin & Beauty Co., a nonsurgical facelift with PDO Max threads is a minimally invasive method that elevates and tautens drooping facial skin. The nonsurgical facelift is oftentimes a good choice for people who may not be ready for a surgical procedure; however, they still want to decrease the signs of aging, including lines, creases, and hanging skin. Emily Duncan and her team use various PDO Max collagen threads, which are medical-grade sutures stitched through the skin to endorse collagen formation and raise droopy skin and smile lines. Conventionally called a “thread lift,” a nonsurgical facelift does not consist of extensive healing time. Schedule a consultation at our office in Northern Kentucky to see if a nonsurgical facelift would be a good aesthetic option for your goals.

What Are the Benefits?

Cosmetic surgery can be an expensive and invasive course of action that is not best for every patient. If you desire to refresh and reset your skin's look without the burden and recovery of surgery, a nonsurgical facelift may provide Northern Kentucky area individuals with these benefits:

  • Reduces indications of aging
  • Evens out wrinkles and lines

  • Firms and enhances skin
  • Modifies facial appearance
  • Combines well with other aesthetic procedures
  • Outcomes able to be seen with a single treatment
  • Nonsurgical procedure
  • No scars
  • A small amount of downtime
  • Lasting results

Who is a Candidate for a Nonsurgical Facelift?

A nonsurgical facelift may be a suitable choice for patients who want to restore a more youthful appearance without undergoing invasive cosmetic surgery. Generally speaking, ideal candidates for a nonsurgical facelift have mild to moderate signs of aging, such as wrinkles, sagging skin, and loss of facial volume.

How Does A Nonsurgical Facelift Work?

A nonsurgical facelift is a minimally invasive procedure that may take an hour or more to complete. Before your nonsurgical lift appointment, Emily Duncan or a member of our staff will talk with you to decide the number of threads to use and the location(s) to establish your ideal results. We typically use the following threads during a nonsurgical facelift:

  • Lifting threads for brows, cheeks, jowls, jawline, and neck
  • Smuth threads for barcode/smoker’s lip lines, vermillion border, cupid’s bow, under the eye, and frown lines
  • Multi threads for nasolabial folds, marionette lines, and temporal hollows
  • Cyclone threads for lip volume

Generally, a topical numbing cream is utilized to numb the treatment areas and allow the patient to stay at ease. Emily Duncan or a team member will put the threads into preferred regions of the face implementing a delicate needle. The sutures are gently pulled to encourage a lifted appearance and a younger-appearing result. No cuts or incisions are needed with this treatment.

What Happens after a Nonsurgical Facelift?

Following a nonsurgical facelift, it's typical to experience a little mild swelling and redness. Make sure to abstain from intensive exertion, and sleep with your head propped up for the next several days. After approximately seven days or so, you should start to discover your rejuvenated results. The PDO threads build elastin and collagen formation for ongoing improvements throughout the next year to year and a half. You typically only need a single PDO thread lift procedure to observe visible results but might wish to schedule follow-up sessions over the next two years to keep up your refreshed outcomes.

About Us
How long does a nonsurgical facelift last?
For most patients, a nonsurgical facelift with PDO Max threads can provide up to 18 months of an enhanced, younger look. This may vary from person to person based on the patient's age, lifestyle factors, and their initial level of skin laxity. For the longest-lasting nonsurgical facelift results, it is important to adopt healthy habits, like avoiding excessive alcohol and caffeine consumption, staying hydrated, keeping the skin moisturized, and minimizing sun exposure.
How long will does healing take after a nonsurgical facelift?
Downtime after a nonsurgical facelift with PDO Max threads is minimal. Some mild swelling, bruising, and tenderness may be present near the insertion and exit sites of the threads, but these symptoms should resolve within a few days. Patients may also experience a feeling of tightness for about 1-2 weeks, but this should not prevent them from returning to work and other activities virtually right away.
Is there anything I shouldn't do after a nonsurgical facelift?
For the first 1-2 weeks after a nonsurgical facelift, patients may be encouraged to avoid strenuous physical activity, heavy lifting, and submerging their face underwater. Additionally, patients should sleep on their back rather than their side or stomach. This, along with touching, rubbing, or massaging the face can delay and/or interfere with the healing process and compromise the final results of the treatment.
